Experience: This position is located in the Developmental Disabilities Division, under the supervision of the Coordinator of Residential Support Services, with monitoring of activities by the Unit Manager. House Managers are responsible for assisting consumers with homemaker and habilitation activities in a community residential setting. The House Manager is responsible for scheduling the homes and ensuring that all shifts are covered, and covering shifts if staff calls in and relief staff is not available. The House Manager ensures that the consumers are having the support needed to complete their goals. House Managers are part of a team that must use their skills and creativity in helping consumers become more aware of and confident in their own abilities, while assisting the consumer and Direct support I and II staff in identifying, creating and utilizing individualized supports, both in their homes and in the community. This position includes activities such as supporting consumers in daily living activities, participating in planning and implementing Person Directed Plans, and documenting unit services. This position is also responsible for monthly checks of JCO standards, grocery shopping for the home. This position is responsible for keeping a solid budget for all house hold needs, cleanness of the homes, scheduling of staff, consumer transport to and from doctor appointments, scheduling doctor appointments and being in contact with the nurse on a weekly basis. This position orders and pick up medications for consumers, and ensure community outings. This positon must check in daily with the Unit Manager for any assigned duties. This position is responsible for keeping up the maintenance of the group home van getting it washed, oil changed, mileage etc. This position is responsible for daily documentation and also reviewing the documentation of the direct care staff on a weekly basis. The House Manager is responsible for communicating between the staff and the Unit Manager in between formal team meetings. The House Manager is also responsible for communicating with the families of the individuals if they need anything or they have any information to give the family. The House Manager is responsible for keeping their training and ensures that the staff training is current. The House Manager is also responsible for updated the relief pool and communicating with the Unit Manager if the Relief staff are no longer working 16 hours a month or have decided that they no longer want to be in the relief pool. This position requires the transportation of consumers in personal and/or center vehicle.
Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday
Licenses: Current and valid Texas driver's license and a clean driving record required.
